  1. Hello ! I would like to know what would be the best and the medium PC configuration required to run eCognition Developer in good performance. I read on eCognition forum that this software needs a lot of RAM memory, especially when we use the Multiresolution segmentation algorithm (MRS). It also needs a good CPU and plenty of hard drive space on the computer. These problems can be solved by using eCognition Server, but most of us have a crack license only for eCognition Developer. So we are limited to the performance of our PC's. I am looking to buy a new PC and I would like to know what would be the best configuration to run eCognition Developer in good performance. Can you give me some general tips ? What CPU to use (Intel, AMD, Gz) ? Mainboard, the type and the RAM producer ? HDD or SSD ? My budget: @1500 USD (without the LCD monitor or any other peripherals parts) Thanks, my friends !
  2. Hello Friends, Currently, i have some researches about object classification. I am using ecogniton before, but i am hardly knowing how to use DEM as a thematic layer on that. How to add altitude information from DEM into our ruleset? Is there anything feature represent altiltude (DEM) ? I also want to use CART analysis as decision tree for choosing some features to split all my class. But, i dont know how to use it. I ask the author from paper i read, he told in ecognition 8, CART already built in so i dont need to use another software. Anyone can help me how to use that? Thanks for any help friend.
  3. Good day everyone, I face a problem when i try to segment an image by using a vector file (.shp). I get "rasterizing vector layer" message wich gives me an estimated time of process completion around 1500-3000 minutes. More specificaly, I create a project and i import: 1) a geotiff image (converted ASAR) 2) a coeastline shapefile (gshhg) After the project creation i get into ruleset development and i try to segment the image by using chessboard type segmentation (5x5) with thematic layer usage. The massege i get when i execute the segmentation process is "Rasterizing Vector Layer... 3000:12 min. remaining". The real time of execution depends on the image size, and it usually takes over 120-180 minutes. I used this method in the past without any problem, and it's a new problem with unknown source for me. Please let me know if you face the same or similar problems when using shapefiles for segmentation. Any opinion is welcome! Thanks in advance, Chrivas.
  4. Dear forum, I have a question for you: how can I manage to license eCognition or ArcGIS in a machine where I can only have access through Remote Desktop? I tried with both software, but I got a Flexnet error which says that the licensing software cannot license a machine being accessed remotely? I let you here a link with a forum talking about something similar at what I've got: http://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthread.php?t=173582&highlight=remote+desktop Thanks for your help! GSQ
