  1. Hello! I have a contour map in .pdf file and I would like to import this map in ArcGIS.I have tried with Arcscan and it only gives the geographic coordinate. Therefore i should input the elevation data 1 by 1 on every line. Question : is it possible to get elevation data from the pdf?or is it another software to convert the pdf? Please Share me some tips Thank You
  2. Dear whoever reads this, I am trying to make a 3D .dxf out of a 2D shapefile for several hundred buildings. Doing this in one fell swoop is proving to be a roadblock. In ArcScene, I extruded building heights for maybe two dozen city blocks in Tel Aviv then later applied the Layer 3D to Feature Class and Multipatch to Collada tools. The immediate goal was to take this swath of hundreds of cubes of various shapes and sizes representing buildings and import them into Sketchup and/or 3DS Max as a .dae for later conversion to a .dxf. Unfortunately, the buildings can only be imported individua
  3. Hello everyone. I have a problem these days that I don't manage to solve by myself. I need to convert a heavy contour file to a detailed raster image. The contour was generated from Lidar data (resolution 1m or 5m) and the area is about 1000 km^2. The objective is to generate a raster with a 10 m resolution using the Top to raster tool. For about 50 km^2 there is no problem at all and the computation quite fast. But for the entire dataset, it is just "impossible". I do not need more memory or CPU. Just Arcgis who is crashing every time. I think I would have to split my data.
  4. Hi guys, i hope i landed in the right forum here. I need to work with a DEM in TIN-format with the Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst extension. Sadly, i can't even get my DEM into ArcMap... So, i will list my problems and hope for some help from such nice people as you certainly are 1) matching coordinate systems of all my data (transforming, projecting) My DEM-data uses GCS_Bessel_1841. Would there be any inaccuracies if i would transform it to DHDN 3-Degree Gauss Zone 3? Or should i rather match all my other data to the DEMs coordinate system? How would i do that? 2) merging layers
  5. Dear Colleagues, My wife recently started working for a property broker as an intern. They have asked me to look at a database they have been building for the last couple of years. the database is in Access format and has a number of forms which they use to update the db. I have not worked with Access before as I am primarily a shapefile person who has a leaning towards spatialite. The db has a column referencing a well known local spatial data set so I should be able to map the data easily enough. However, they are looking for a system whereby I host the data online and update it from tim
