Failed Adding Point Features QGIS (2.18)

 Dear Fellows,

I am trying to add point feature data into QGIS (2.18), the shapefile itself has size around 300 Mb. Sadly QGIS said: "XXXX is not valid or recognize data source", I have yet trying to use the new version of QGIS.  Anyone had a similar experience?

I never involve with big shp files in QGIS, 

if you let say cut it into small pieces and try to load in QGIS, does it work?

If I cut it into small pieces definitely it works. I successfully added it via PostGIS. Let's see if in the new QGIS it works!! anyway, thanks mate!!

i will try to load big data on to QGIS, but i use QGIS 3.2 right now, ahahahaha. 

but judging by your error messages, could it be your shapefiles missing one of their important file?

I am successfully open the file via ArcGIS, but it could be also the shapefile.

i can confirm you in QGIS 3.2 i can load big shapefiles data
