ArcObject Dissapearing??

long term decision, will be better if we have an official road map from ESRI, and based on ESRI development summit , I quote for you :

ArcObjects is, and will continue to be, the core basis of Esri technologies and they will not be deprecated any time soon. As they implement and introduce new technologies, they will not replace ArcObjects. The only difference now is that you no longer have to use ArcObjects for nearly any type of customization as was the case in the past. We now have a plethora of options in what we use to bring geospatial technologies to our respective audiences. However, ArcObjects will not go away. I repeat. ArcObjects is here for the foreseeable future. So ArcMap Extensions and Addins, Server Object Extensions, custom Geoprocessing tools as well as stand-alone ArcObjects and ArcEngine based applications will still continue to be supported and their development an important part of the world of Enterprise GIS. The top dogs on the panel at the closing lunch spent much more time on this and were very clear about how they felt about ArcObjects, and it was a great relief to many people in the room who have invested untold hours in ArcObject development over the last fifteen years.
